I was born and raised all over South Jersey.

WHAT'S THE BEST THING ABOUT YOUR CITY OR HOMETOWN?
Since I moved around a lot I don’t really have a home town but I rep Camden, NJ because I lived in that area and Woodlynne, NJ the longest.

WHAT WERE YOUR INFANT ASPIRATIONS?
I wanted to be a entertainment lawyer! I swore I’d be signing contracts and checks until I was about 22 years old.

WHY WRITER AND DIRECTOR?
I write in order to create and share the message I’ve been given. Directing comes naturally to be. It allows me to bring together people and technical equipment to make real life stories a reality.

WHAT IS YOUR BACKGROUND TRAINING?
I have no background or formal training in film, writing and producing. I often jest I got my BA from Google.com and MFA from Youtube University.

HOW DID "SINGLE AND ANXIOUS" COME ABOUT?
I was writing a blog about not wanting to be single and anxious back in 2006, and it turned into a book. Around 2012 I was bored with writing non-fiction and wanted to branch out. Around 2014 I turned it into an actual show and did my first run at it. It was absolutely horrible and we took it down. In 2016 we decided to re-imagine and re-create the current version.

WHAT IS YOUR PROCESS FROM CONCEPT TO CREATION?
The concept normally starts out by an idea. I write it down in notes and then unpack it in a pages document. I flesh out the characters and then invite my writing team into the process. We spent a nice amount of time discussing ideas and where the characters can go. I partner up the writers and we all work on episodes with an outline , episode themes and titles. From there we sent it out to the actors, do a table read, rehearse, begin pre production, principal photography and then spend one to two months in post production. It’s generally a six to eight month process from concept to post production.

WHAT OR WHO HAS HAD THE GREATEST INFLUENCE ON YOU?
Well Jesus forms my worldview. Ava Duvernay encourages my hustle. Spike Lee pushes me to be more creative. Toni Cade reminds me to write from my heart.

WHAT SOCIAL THEMES ARE YOU PASSIONATE ABOUT?
My biggest passion is bringing authenticity to characters and showing the struggles of humanity.

WHAT IS YOUR PREFERRED CINEMATIC GENRE?
Drama and time pieces.

WHAT DO YOU GET UP TO WHEN YOU'RE NOT WORKING?
7:3-8a.m.

HOW DO YOU UNWIND?
At home with a book, film or just hanging with my husband and our homies.
